The Lush Home Of Bath Art

I could start this blog about LUSH by telling you all when it was created, who by, but I think the best way to summarise this shop is through their brand ethos. They say "We believe in happy people making happy soap", and I think that just sums up who they are. An ethical company that handmake vegetarian, vegan and cruelty free cosmetics. Self-labelled the 'inventors of the bath bomb and home of bath art', you don't have to look far into this business to find something you love. Whether it's the gorgeous bath bombs, shops filled with their signature scent or the active role they play in ethical matters around the world, this company truly has something for everyone to love.

Before I get onto the products I wanted to talk about something on their company website that really stuck out to me; their tips and advice section. An entire page dedicated to helping customers, giving advice and informing everybody (customer or not) the ways they can improve their selfcare. From 'How to care for blonde hair' to 'An introduction to face and body masks', any routine could benefit from a quick trip to this page. My skincare routine is definitely not extensive, most days it is non-existent, but with so many articles on how to properly care for different skin types, I will definitely be incorporating Lush into my daily routine. Another thing I loved about this section was the range of articles helping with gifts, as someone who loves giving the perfect gift but struggles to find it, these articles will be my saviour for many birthdays to come.

Product time! Lush have such an extensive range that I could write ten blogs and still not cover everything, but here is a brief (and I mean very brief) overview of their main products:
  • Bath & Shower- Soaps, bath bombs, bubble bars, the list goes on! If I had to make a recommendation I would definitely go with the Peachy gift box, complete with a lovely bath bomb with some beautiful colours and sparkles, as well as a sweetly scented bubbleroon that is guaranteed to make your bath smell like a fruity picnic in summer
  • Face- After you've refreshed with a nice bath, why not complete your selfcare routine with moisturisers, spot treatments or face masks? Getting ready to go out? Lush have you covered there too, with a wide range of makeup and and lip balms (all cruelty free and vegan of course)
  • Body- Your body is a temple, so why not treat it to a lotion, massage bar or even shaving set from Lush? With the guarantee that what you're using is fresh, friendly and fragrant, there's no reason not to buy these products!
  • Hair- as someone who hasn't bought hair products from Lush I can't personally vouch for them, but if their track record so far is anything to go by, their hair care products are a must-have too!
  • Fragrance- You have to check out their fragrance section, but if you haven't got much time, then make sure you take a look at their fragrance libraries. Not only are they super cute, they're a brilliant gift to splurge on, and with the year everyone's had, it can't hurt to treat ourselves a little!
"It's better naked". Before you go jumping to conclusions, this is what Lush has to say when it comes to packaging. I couldn't agree more, seeing such a huge corporation reducing the plastic waste created globally by creating 'packaging free pampering' is always nice to see, and we can only hope that more companies follow in their footsteps. Lush have solutions that I think every company should be employing, pressed conditioner reduces the wastage of throwing an empty plastic bottle out every week, and initiatives like a refillable lipstick case show they're not playing around when it comes to solving the planet's plastic pollution problem.

So what makes Lush so amazing? 100% vegetarian products? The fact that they fight animal testing, buy ethically and help the environment with naked packaging? Or is it that all of their products are fresh and handmade? Whatever the reason is, it is undeniable that Lush have earnt their place as an ethical company, and I am sure we haven't seen the last of their innovations in improving business practice worldwide.
